UK’s leading structural steel contractors, Severfield to host Offshore Energy Alliance supply chain networking event and factory tour with Hutchinson and RWE.
Severfield, the UK’s leading steel fabricator and a major player in building infrastructure, is hosting a supply chain networking event for SMEs across North Wales and the North West region on Wednesday, 30th October at The Bolton Whites hotel, close to their Lostock facility in Lancashire.
Delegates attending the event can expect to hear from Severfield about their ambition to support the offshore energy sector, as well as how Hutchinson has facilitated supply chain improvements, reduced costs, and improved strategic delivery since participating in the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) business transformation programme.
Steve Adams, Managing Director of Hutchinson, emphasised the significance of events like this for regional supply chain development.
“Through fostering collaboration and creating new partnerships, we’ve been able to drive efficiencies and help lead the way for other supply chain businesses to further support the offshore energy sector and other low carbon energy sectors. This event with Severfield and RWE represents an important opportunity to showcase our work and to help SMEs in the region prosper.”

One of the morning’s sessions will focus on RWE’s Supplier Transparency Engagement Programme (STEP), followed by a Q&A session.

“We’re committed to working closely with our suppliers to ensure transparency and collaboration. Our STEP programme is designed to make this engagement seamless, and we look forward to sharing more about how local supply chain companies can work with us to support the offshore energy transition.”
With a focus on development and collaboration, the event aims to bring together supply chain companies across the OEA region, whether they are currently active in the offshore energy sector or looking to enter the market.
