Offshore Energy Alliance and Hutchinson, Topic Champion for Supply Chain Growth, host first networking event

OEA Associate Member, Hutchinson, hosted a group of SME’s and OEA members at their headquarters at Merseyside. The purpose was to champion the regional supply chain and encourage collaboration within the region and further afield.

Lynne McIntosh-Grieve, Programme Manager for the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP), also discussed the Business Transformation Programmes and Grant Support schemes offered by OWGP to increase competitiveness and productivity in the Offshore Wind Sector. One of which, Hutchinson themselves have previously been enrolled on.

Steve Adams, Hutchinson Managing Director said, “We have been engaged on the OWGP Funded Business Transformation programme delivered by Sharing in Growth since late 2021. This is a multi-year improvement programme with a wide-ranging focus across many business activities. It has facilitated improvements in our strategic planning and delivery, personnel alignment and culture, supply-chain and production efficiencies and has generated tangible improvements across our business in our drive towards our cost-reduction target positioning us in a better able to meet the needs of the Offshore -Wind sector.”

Hutchinson’s experience in supplying the offshore wind sector allowed guests to gain an insight into the opportunities and challenges of the sector and we were pleased that this event helped SME’s within the region identify opportunities to work collaboratively moving forward.

Our mission is to highlight north Wales and the north west of England as leaders in the offshore energy transition. By working together with Associate Members such as Hutchinson and our partners, we can increase local benefit from energy projects currently in the region and in the pipeline, across business growth, infrastructure, innovation and skills.
