The Offshore Energy Alliance (OEA) is running a fixed offshore wind pilot accelerator, as the North Wales coast and broader OEA region is a prime location to take advantage of the growing demand for offshore wind energy production. The Irish Sea currently has fixed offshore wind sites already developed, and 3.5GW of new seabed leases including developments such as Awel y Môr (RWE) and Mona & Morgan (bp-EnBW). With demand increasing, we need a well-equipped and highly skilled supply chain available to carry out work for these projects, while also economically benefitting the regional communities.

To test out the demand and benefits of a supply chain accelerator programme, we’re running a pilot “introduction to offshore wind” supply chain accelerator. This would be run for 6 weeks, with a 1.5 – 2 hour session each week (two session will take place over half a working day) with the aim of providing registered companies on the accelerator a better understanding of the opportunities available within the sector, the standards which need to be achieved and where to go for additional support. At the end of the 6 weeks, we will ask for your feedback, in order to help enhance the programme and assess its potential value for supply chain companies operating across the OEA regions.
