Following consultation amongst key organisations within the regions involved, it was clear that the OEA should (as much as possible) avoid becoming a membership/fee-based entity and ensure free, inclusive participation for local supply chain, skills and innovation companies plus others seeking to benefit from the cluster’s activities.

The Alliance’s regional partners are therefore working to approve a model whereby they each make a contribution (financial or in kind) to keep the cluster running. In addition, Topic Champions (appointed from the local supply chain) will pay a minimal fee and get to lead their assigned workstream topic on behalf of the region – playing a key advisory role, leading lobbying and other activities such as webinars in order to help enhance awareness and facilitate progress. For all others wishing to join the cluster and engage, this will be completely free.
